Who We Are And What This Policy Covers

My Eye Doctor ("we", "us" or "our") runs myeyedoctor.net, an online directory and patient guide that helps people find eye doctors, compare their profiles and send appointment requests. Our business address is 9001 Wilshire Blvd #306, Beverly Hills, CA 90211, United States.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to myeyedoctor.net and to emails we send you. It doesn't apply to the websites or offices of the eye doctors listed on our site, which have their own privacy practices.

My Eye Doctor is not a healthcare provider. We don't diagnose, treat or keep medical records. When you request an appointment, we pass your request to the doctor's office, and the care you receive is between you and that office.

Information We Collect

We only ask for what we need to run the directory and pass your requests to eye doctors. The table below shows what we collect and where it comes from.

Please don't include detailed medical history, Social Security numbers or insurance member ID numbers in a booking request, review or email. The doctor's office will ask for what it needs directly.

How We Use Your Information

• Send your appointment request to the doctor's office you chose, and email you a copy of the request
• Email you when the office confirms or changes your request, if the office uses our booking tools
• Ask you to review your visit, by email, a few days after your appointment date. You can ignore or opt out of these emails at any time
• Confirm your review by email, check it for spam and personal details, and publish it on the doctor's profile
• Answer your questions and requests to our team
• Keep doctor profiles accurate and up to date
• Protect our site from spam, abuse and security threats
• Understand how our site is used so we can improve it
• Meet our legal obligations

We don't use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we don't use booking or review details for advertising.

Health Information

Some details you share, like the reason for your visit, can relate to your health. We treat these details with extra care.

• We collect them only to pass your appointment request to the doctor you chose
• We never sell them and never use them for advertising
• We share them only with that doctor's office and with service providers that help us run the site, such as email delivery
• You can ask us to delete them at any time

Because My Eye Doctor is a directory and not a healthcare provider or health plan, we're generally not a "covered entity" under the US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Once your request reaches the doctor's office, the office handles your information under its own privacy obligations, which may include HIPAA.

If you live in Washington State, Nevada or another state with a consumer health data law, you have the right to know what health-related data we hold, to ask us to delete it, and to withdraw your consent. How We Protect Information

No website or email system can be completely secure, so please don't send sensitive details we haven't asked for.

UK and Swiss residents. Under the UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, you also have the right to restrict or object to how we use your information and to receive it in a portable format. We rely on your request (to pass on an appointment request), our legitimate interests (to run and protect the site) and your consent (for reviews) as our legal bases. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK or the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner in Switzerland.

To use any of these rights, email info.myeyedoctor@gmail.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We'll reply within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, for example by replying from the email address you used. You can also ask someone you trust to make a request for you with your written permission.

International Users

We're based in the United States, and our service providers may store information in the United States or other countries. If you use our site from the UK, Switzerland or elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and stored in the United States. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Children's Privacy

Our site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 in the UK and Switzerland. A parent or guardian may request an appointment for a child, in which case we treat the child's details with the same care as all booking information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Doctor profiles and our guides may link to practice websites, maps, insurers and trusted health organizations. We don't control these sites, and their privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our site or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we'll post a clear notice on our site before it takes effect.
