Agreeing To These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and My Eye Doctor ("we", "us" or "our"), 9001 Wilshire Blvd #306, Beverly Hills, CA 90211, United States. They apply when you visit myeyedoctor.net, search for eye doctors, send an appointment request, write a review or use any other part of our website.

By using our website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What My Eye Doctor Is, And Isn't

My Eye Doctor is an online directory and patient guide. We help you find eye doctors, compare their profiles, read patient reviews, learn about eye health and send appointment requests to doctors' offices.

• We are not a medical practice, clinic, hospital, insurer or pharmacy
• We don't provide medical care, and no doctor-patient relationship is created by using our site
• We don't employ, recommend or guarantee any doctor listed on our site
• Doctors listed on our site practice independently and are responsible for the care they provide

Not Medical Advice

Everything on our site, including eye health guides, condition pages, the vision simulator, blog posts and FAQs, is general information for education only. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment plan, and it can't replace an exam by a qualified eye doctor. Always follow the advice of your own doctor, and never delay or ignore medical advice because of something you read on our site.

Eye emergency? Don't use our site or wait for a reply. For sudden vision loss, a curtain over your vision, a chemical splash, an eye injury or severe eye pain, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Outside the US, call your local emergency number.

Who Can Use Our Site

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to send appointment requests or write reviews. A parent or legal guardian may request an appointment or write a review for a child in their care. You agree that the information you give us is true, accurate and your own, or that you have permission to share it.

Doctor Listings And Information

Doctor profiles are built from information supplied by practices and from public sources, such as the US National Provider Identifier (NPI) registry and official practice websites. We work to keep profiles accurate, but details like office hours, accepted insurance, availability and fees can change at any time.

• Always confirm important details, especially insurance coverage, directly with the office and your insurance plan before your visit
• A listing, a "featured" placement or a high rating is not an endorsement or a guarantee of quality
• A "verified" badge means we checked the doctor's license or NPI details at the time shown, not that we reviewed their care
• Search results and featured doctors may be ordered by factors such as relevance, location, availability and patient ratings

Appointment Requests

• A request isn't a booking. Your appointment is only confirmed when the doctor's office confirms it with you directly
• The office decides whether to accept your request and may contact you to arrange another time
• To change or cancel an appointment, contact the office using the details in your confirmation email
• Any fees, cancellation policies and payment terms are set by the office, not by us
• My Eye Doctor doesn't charge patients for searching, comparing or sending appointment requests
• Please only send requests you intend to keep, and give accurate contact details

We aren't responsible for an office's response, scheduling, care, billing or insurance decisions.

Patient Reviews

Honest reviews help other patients choose. When you write a review, you agree that:

• It's about a real visit you or your child had with that doctor or office
• It's your own honest opinion and describes your own experience
• You weren't paid, offered a discount or given anything of value to write it, and you aren't related to, employed by or competing with the doctor
• It doesn't include private medical details, other people's names or contact information, offensive language, threats or false statements
• It doesn't contain links, advertising or spam

Every review is confirmed by email and read by our team before it goes live. We publish negative reviews as well as positive ones. We may edit a review only to remove private details, names or contact information, and we may refuse or remove reviews that break these rules or that we reasonably believe are fake. Doctors and practices can't pay to remove or change reviews.

By submitting a review, you give My Eye Doctor a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce and share it on our site and in related materials. You keep ownership of your review and can ask us to remove it at any time by emailing info.myeyedoctor@gmail.com.

Terms For Doctors And Practices

If you list or update a practice or doctor profile, you confirm that:

• You're authorized to act for the practice and every doctor you submit
• The details you provide, including licenses, NPI numbers, credentials, insurance and hours, are accurate and kept up to date
• You have the rights to any photos, logos and text you send us, and you allow us to display them on our site
• You'll respond to appointment requests promptly and handle patient information under the laws that apply to you, including HIPAA where relevant

We may edit, decline or remove any listing at our discretion, including listings with expired licenses, inaccurate details or repeated patient complaints.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Copy, scrape or harvest doctor listings, reviews or other content with bots, crawlers or any automated tool
• Send fake, duplicate or abusive appointment requests or reviews
• Pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your connection to a doctor or practice
• Upload viruses or harmful code, or try to access parts of the site you're not allowed to
• Interfere with, overload or disrupt the site or our service providers
• Use the site for anything unlawful, harmful, harassing or misleading
• Use our content to build a competing directory or database

We may limit, suspend or block access for anyone who breaks these rules.

Our Content And Trademarks

The My Eye Doctor name, logo, site design, text, guides, graphics and software are owned by My Eye Doctor or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may view, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, as long as you keep any copyright notices. You may not copy, sell, republish or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.

Names and logos of insurance companies, hospitals, professional organizations and other businesses belong to their owners. We show them only to describe coverage or affiliations, and their use doesn't mean they endorse My Eye Doctor.

If you believe content on our site infringes your copyright, email info.myeyedoctor@gmail.com with the details and we'll review it promptly.

Third-Party Websites And Services

Our site links to practice websites, maps, insurers, professional organizations and other third-party services. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or terms. Visiting them is at your own risk.

Disclaimers

Our site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including about the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of listings or content, the quality of care any doctor provides, or the site being uninterrupted, secure or error-free. Some places don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, My Eye Doctor and our team, medical advisors and service providers won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the site, any doctor's care or advice, any appointment request, or any content on the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to US $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Your Responsibility

You agree to defend and hold harmless My Eye Doctor and our team from claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your misuse of the site, your reviews or listings, or your breach of these Terms.

Changes, Suspension And Ending Access

We may change, pause or stop any part of the site at any time. We may also update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If we make a significant change, we'll post a clear notice on our site.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as review licenses, disclaimers and limits of liability, stay in effect.

Governing Law And Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

Before starting any claim, please email us at info.myeyedoctor@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it informally. If you live in the UK, Switzerland or another country, you keep any consumer rights and protections that the laws of your country give you and that can't be waived.

General Terms

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the full agreement between you and us about the site. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a right, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms, but we may transfer ours, for example if My Eye Doctor is sold or reorganized.
