How We Work

How Our Team Keeps Every Page Accurate

Health information should be correct, clear and up to date. These are the steps every guide and news article on My Eye Doctor goes through before patients see it.

  1. Research From Trusted Sources

We start from guidance published by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Optometric Association, Medicare.gov and peer-reviewed research.

  2. Written In Plain Language

Our writers explain eye conditions, treatments and costs in clear words patients can act on, without medical jargon.

  3. Reviewed By An Eye Surgeon

A member of our medical team checks every guide for accuracy before it is published and names themselves as the reviewer.

  4. Updated And Dated

Pages show their last updated date, and we revise them when guidelines, treatments or coverage rules change.

Our Standards

What You Can Expect From My Eye Doctor

  • License Checked Doctor Profiles

Doctor profiles are matched against the NPI Registry and state license records, and each one shows when it was last updated.

  • Real Patient Reviews Only

Every review is confirmed by email and read by our team before it goes live. Low ratings are published as well as high ones.

  • Independent Medical Team

Our medical team practices independently at their own clinics. Their role here is to review content, not to promote their own practices.

  • Clear Sources

Our guides name the medical organizations and research they rely on, so you can read the original guidance yourself.

  • Information, Not Medical Advice

Our content helps you understand eye care and choose a doctor. It does not replace an exam or advice from your own eye doctor.

  • Corrections Welcome

If you spot an error on a guide or a doctor profile, tell us. We review every report and update the page when a correction is needed.
