Overview
Dr. Nancy Anibarro earned her undergraduate degree at Western Washington University and her Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry. She went on to complete a residency at the Westside VA Medical Center in Chicago, focused on ocular disease and the diagnosis and management of complex eye conditions. She now practises at the Hayden Road office in Scottsdale.
Before moving to Arizona she spent nearly twenty years teaching and seeing patients at the University of Washington, educating future clinicians while caring for generations of the same families. An academic career leaves a mark on how a doctor examines. Findings get explained rather than recorded, reasoning is made visible, and a patient leaves knowing what their scan showed and what the next step depends on.
Originally from Washington State, she relocated to Arizona recently and has enjoyed discovering the Southwest. At the Scottsdale office she runs comprehensive examinations for adults and children, fits glasses and contact lenses, and manages glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and the more complicated presentations that need a measured, long-term plan.
She says good eye care starts with listening and understanding each patient as an individual, and her goal is a visit where people feel heard and confident in what has been decided. Outside optometry she is an avid runner who has completed marathons, loves Arizona’s trails, and spends her time outdoors with her husband and children.

Questions Patients Ask

Ask for the first available slot with Dr. Anibarro by name, say whether the visit is a routine exam, a contact lens fitting or an eye problem, and have your vision or medical plan details to hand so cover can be checked before you arrive.
What should I bring to my first visit with Dr. Anibarro?
Bring photo ID and your vision and medical insurance cards, your current glasses and the boxes or prescription for your contact lenses, a list of every medicine and eye drop you use, and any previous eye records or retinal scans. Mention diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease or a family history of glaucoma, because these change what gets examined.
